“Fantastic night at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles. Honored to have contributed a piece (Bhavanga, Study of 9, 2018) to the event. The Silverlake Conservatory of Music does amazing, life-changing work for kids and the community.”
After successfully donating and helping to raise funds for the Waterkeeper Alliance earlier this year in NYC, James Verbicky is excited to be participating in this fall’s Art for Water: LA event!! Waterkeeper Alliance president Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will join artist chair Ed Ruscha in Los Angeles on September 25th, 2013.
An original Verbicky media painting was auctioned on March 5th, 2012 at the Waterkeeper Alliance Fundraising Auction held at Matthew Marks Gallery in New York City. Chaired by Waterkeeper Alliance President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and artist Jeff Koons, the evening brought together stars of the art scene as well as philanthropic celebrities for the cause of protecting and raising awareness for the world’s water resources.
The media painting, entitled “Blitz 9 Panel #1” garnered multiple bids, and contributed to the evening’s impressive fundraising amount of over 5 million.
An original Verbicky painting was auctioned off last week alongside an array of impressive artworks at the sprawling home of Houston philanthropists’ John & Becca Cason Thrash.
The artworks were sold during the preview cocktail party held at the Thrash residence, where collectors were able to bid on pieces before the main event, the 2012 Houston Ballet Ball, which will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at the Wortham Theatre Center in Houston, Texas.
All proceeds go directly to benefit the Houston Ballet.
